Decorative Concrete Overlays
Decorative Concrete Overlays are made up of a combination of cement, various aggregates, and polymer resins. The purpose of a concrete overlay is to make existing concrete look better. In many cases it is not necessary to tear out existing concrete that has surface imperfections such as cracks, pitting, or discoloration. Decorative Concrete Overlays are a great solution to “ugly” concrete that is otherwise structurally sound.
These systems can simulate the natural variegated looks of acid staining without the draw backs associated with chemical neutralizing. Systems are combined with polymer overlays, decorative saw cuts, engraving, and stenciling for endless design possibilities. We can achieve translucent to more opaque looks that have an infinite range of colors. We finish off with a protective clear top coat. Anti-slip additives are available.

How long does it take to apply?
Every job is different in size and requirements. A typical residential pool deck will require 2 or 3 days to complete the installation.

As a homeowner, you will have the responsibility for upkeep (cleaning) just as you would the carpet in your home. What if I want to change the color? A previously coated surface can be easily and economically resealed with Acrathane® Colorseal to any of our standard colors.
What is Krete Kote?
Multicoat® Krete Kote System is a flexible resin modified cement coating which is applied to existing concrete surfaces followed by two coats of our Acrathane® Colorseal.
Is this surface cooler than bare concrete?
Yes, In fact, tests show that surfaces coated with Multicoat’s Krete Kote® System are substantially cooler than bare concrete. Is it easy to clean? YES. When sealed with the Acrathane® Colorseal a periodic cleaning using a standard house hold detergent will keep your Multicoat surface looking new for years!
We live in the North where it gets cold, so is this material flexible?
Good question to ask and the answer is YES, most definitely. We use a unique blend of resins and polymers which allow the material to become hard, yet still maintain its flexibility during freeze/thaw cycles.
